The Division of Homeland Security’s inspector common has “declined to investigate” the conduct of horse-mounted Border Patrol officers in Del Rio, Texas, chasing Haitian migrants as they attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, DHS stated on Tuesday.
The inspector general’s business has referred the situation back to the DHS Business of Qualified Responsibility, which “immediately commenced investigative perform, together with its review of video clips and images and the interview of witnesses, personnel, and CBP management,” the DHS assertion mentioned, referring to Customs and Border Protection.
